Here is an interesting quote that I came across in a commentary or somewhere recently...
"People are not your problem, they are your purpose!"
This quote can certainly bring conviction to any of us at one time or another, because we are all guilty of being bothered by people and their silly ways at times.
Recently, God brought this Scripture text to life in me with regard to this quote. That text is Acts 3, when Peter and John went to the Temple to pray and come across the lame man. They did not try to avoid him, but instead told him to look at them. Because they were about to give him something that he did not expect!
They tell this lame man, "Silver and gold have we none, but what we do have, we give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene - WALK!" That particular day, the man was not a problem, he was their purpose.
Jesus left us with a purpose too. It is called the Great Commission. To go into all the world and preach the Gospel. To who? PEOPLE!
Oh, how we have to remember that people are not the problem. No, instead, God has made them our purpose, just as they are His. We are His. Thank you Lord!
