Well, I should have been logging our day to day events, but things have been to busy and exciting around here to even check my e-mail, which were many.
When we arrived on Thursday, we started by going to visit Mike and Faye in the hospital. Mike will be there for a little while yet to heal up from his surgery.
Then...the shopping began. Our Church took a love offering up to bless the Moore family with some new items they lost from the hurricane. And boy, did the ladies make that money strethch! We were able to by a new set of dishes, pots and pans, baking pans, utensils, silverware, a microwave a coffee pot, a table and chairs, a king size bed and the fixin's for that. Towels and many beutiful decorations for the two bathrooms. Plus, much more. You can see it all in the pictures. All the decorations and the things in the home were by our group. It was a blessing to the family and added to the "wow" effect when it was revealed to the family on Saturday.
And, WHAT A DAY THAT WAS! Words cannot describe that day. It was awesome. It was life changing. It was powerful. I would say that there were 200 people there when the home was dedicated unto the Lord and presented to the family. God really blessed my by allowing me to be a part of it. I was asked to speak for a few moments, and then to pray the prayer of dedication. It was awesome!
Continue to keep this family in prayer, and ask the Lord to continue to keep and bless this family and community. They can leave a lasting impression on this community by letting their light shine for the Lord there in this new home.
Mike Jr., thier son, gave his heart to the Lord this past week too. AND, he was in church this Sunday. Not to mention, many others gave their heart to the Lord throughout this 6 day speed build of their new home. We have to give a shout out to the team from Fairmont, West Virginia, and Joe West for their faith and hard work. Plus, many from The Refuge here in Gautier...they all made this happen. We really got to see The Church in action this week and it was powerful. Oh, that God would help us all to get it like this around the world. We can do it!
