I found this quote on a friend's blog today, and I sparked some good thoughts...
"There are silences harder to take back than words."
-Poet, James Richardson
We have heard it said before that "silence is golden." Although, there is truth to that and it might be fitting for many situations...there are times that we need say something! I think of when Madalyn Murray O'Hair was able to get prayer removed from the school system back in the 60's...where were the Christians who stood up and said something? Even in our society today, there are many laws being passed that oppose the Scriptures...why don't we say something?
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
-Edmund Burke
That is a powerful statement for us to hear. Plus, it ought to motivate us to not just "be" but to also "do."
Silence isn't alway golden, is it?
Do you think we (Christians) need to be more vocal about our faith? Drop me a line...
